NAPTIME

Naps are critical to growing children. Studies suggest that mental development takes place when kids sleep-both at night and at least once during the day. Studies have also found that kids who nap have longer attention spans and are less fussy than those who don’t. And, perhaps the best reason of all: children tend to sleep longer and more peacefully at night.

The standard naptime in some Child-Care facilities is two hours.  Naptime for older preschoolers is considered “quiet time”, but sometimes the child still drifts off to sleep on their own. Naptime for infant and toddlers is also two hours, but sometimes, they don’t always sleep that long.

Per my contract, I will not accept a child being dropped off or picked up at nap time. It’s very hard to put multi-age children down for a nap at the same time. If a child is coming in during naptime, sometimes there is crying and that will interrupt all of the children.
